Optimec is830 is a new generation instrument for accurate contact lens measurements facilitating and assisting the lens manufacturing processes. The product was developed as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between the company (Optimec) and Aston University, with the expertise and facilities of the Biomedical Engineering group at Aston University, covering:
- EEA regulations (CE marking)
- Hardware and software development
- 3D modeling (CAD)
- Components selection and prototype build
- Testing
This case study is an example of usability study performed before the MD-TEC project began.
